Born in the dark, pulsating cellars of Nuremburg, where the spirit of Elvis from Schweinau met the raw energy of the Stooges, the Cisco Pikes emerged.
The band, consisting of Mark (vocals, percussion, harmonica), Robin (Guitar), Zattl (guitar) , Chris (bass), and Alex (drums), is a modern incarnation of New wave and Post-Punk, reviving the spirit of the 1970s with the urgency of the 21st Century.
Their music is an explosive mix of edgy, driving basslines, raw-energetic Guiter riffs inspired by 1960s garage punk, and the hypnotic, wild pulse of a handful of maracas. Above it all, Mark’s vocals soar, sometimes sarcastic, and distant, sometimes angry and explosive. The lyrics reflect urban alienation, dealing with surveillance, isolation, and the desperate search for authenticity in a digital world.
Influenced by genre classics like The Clash, Undertones, Buzzcocks, and Elvis Costello, the Cisco Pike’s aren’t afraid to push boundaries. They celebrate the minimalism and impatience of punk, waving it with the rhythmic complexity and melodic hooks of New Wave.
After Their first single “Scummy in the Summer”, which quickly, earned them a loyal underground fan base, Their live performances caused a stir. Their concerts aren’t just a playback of songs, but a performance art show where the band members fall into a trance- like catharsis while the audience joins in a nervous erratic dance.
With their upcoming debut LP “Cisco Pikes”, the band is ready to bring Their exciting songs and anarchic energy to the dance floors. It’s music for a future we don’t want, but live in. And it sounds damn good!
