Weltraumservice of course is the title of the 1996 album by the Shiny Gnomes which leaves behind the wellknown orbit of the earlier Gnomes with its German-speaking lyrics and semi-techno influences. In July 1997 the Shiny Gnomes temporarily disband and Ufo and Limo clearly know that they will continue in any form and expand the achievements of the Shiny´s “Weltraumservice”-album. As “Weltraumservice” is also the name of the Shiny Gnomes Fan Club it seemed to be clear to take this brand for a new musical project – a new band was born: Weltraumservice. For two years Ufo and Limo mess around on their computers, sequencers, analog equipment and German-speaking lyrics. With the help of Britz (Pure Luege) and Theresa L (Discolor, The God Box, Fit&Limo) Ufo and Limo are happy when “Delta Echo Foxtrott” finally is released on Micropal Records in 2000. Some new Weltraumservice tracks are already recorded but when and if they will be released isn´t for sure at the moment….watch out, here…..!
